Eddy Explore

I just cycled the entire length of Australia. Here is where I document what I’ve achieved.

Riding from the very north to the very south of Australia

In July, 2025 I set off from the northernmost point of Australia – Cape York, Queensland – and spent 100 days cycling down its east coast to its southernmost point – South Point – in Wilson’s Promontory National Park, Victoria. I also stopped at the most easterly point on the coast as well, in Byron Bay, NSW.

I have shared my journey on Instagram during the trip (up until the point my hard drive broke – recovering that data now!) and I will be updating this over the coming weeks with itineraries, stories and essential knowledge.

Who is Eddy Explore?

My name is Ed – I grew up in the county of Worcestershire, UK (yes, like the sauce!). I have lived in Australia since 2018, most recently living in Brisbane, QLD.

I have a passion for cycling and travel, making a three month bikepacking trip an extremely exciting life opportunity.

I also have a passion for football shirts, which is a theme you may notice along my shared rides.

Bikepacking Experience

I’ve been lucky enough to take a few trips. Most recently my full length east coast trip, a tour of the Cross Country Cycle Route in South Korea in 2024 and a Brisbane to Melbourne charity ride with the Fitzroy Four in 2018.
